My love of photography began at Conestoga High School in Berwyn, PA, where I took art studio and started to work in the medium of Photography. These 4 years of art studio and photography taught me composition, color theory, and lighting. This class really excited my interest in photography, and I began to shoot outside of the classroom. My first digital camera was the Olympus C765, which was the perfect advanced point and shoot, which I found in no way limiting. Soon this camera never left my side. With the constant use, and wear and tear, the camera finally died and it was time to move into the world of DSLRs. I bought a Nikon D50 in 2005. Around this time I was accepted to Penn State to become an Engineer. During my first semester at school I launched my photography website, and proceeded to update it on a biweekly basis. I took all the photo classes that the college would allow, but I couldn’t get enough. I wanted to take more and expand my knowledge of photography. I was fast growing out of my D50 and needed something new. During the fall of 2007 I traded in my D50 for the faster Nikon D70. In the spring of 2008 I changed my major to photography and signed up for a full semester of art classes. Since the summer of 2004 I have been hired to shoot several events on Long Beach Island, NJ. The most recent event was August of 2007; The 3 day Eastern Escow Regatta. Fifteen-thousand pictures later, the majority of the sailors had some piece of work to take home. Also some of my surf photography can be found on the walls of Farias’ Surf & Sport in Beach Haven, NJ. |
